Accomplishments

Gehan Dhameeth, associate professor of business, participated in the ACBSP 2020 Region 1 Fall Conference, held Oct. 29–30, 2020.

Gehan Dhameeth, associate professor of business, was invited by Stockholm University (Sweden) and e-University (Malaysia) to be an examiner and an external Ph.D. and DBA dissertation supervisor. He was also invited to be an editorial member of the Sri Lanka Journal of Marketing [ISSN (Print) -1800-4989]. 

Based on a World Bank Project, Gehan Dhameeth,associate professor of business, was invited this June to consult for the Commerce and Finance Department at the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, to develop a Student Assessment Guideline Book for the following degrees: bachelor of commerce (special) entrepreneurship; bachelor of commerce (special) – financial management; bachelor of commerce (special) – business technology; and bachelor of commerce (special) degree.

Gehan Dhameeth, associate professor of business, appeared in a live talk show on Channel Eye’s Business Today program talking about the use of artificial intelligence and marketing analytics for efficient business decisions in Sri Lanka on Dec. 18, 2019. The following day, he appeared on another live Sri Lankan talk show, produced by the Rupavahini TV Corp., sharing the relationship between artificial intelligence and marketing analytics.

  • Professor Dhameethalso conducted a faculty training on “Case Method Teaching Techniques” for the NSBM Green University faculty on Dec. 14, 2019 at the Tangerine Hotel in Kalutara, Sri Lanka.
  • He also conducted a workshop on artificial intelligence and business decisions for senior IT and business students at the University of Kelaniya in Sri Lanka on Dec. 23, 2019.

Gehan Dhameeth,associate professor of business, presented a research paper on “Predictive Modeling of the Brand Equity: Analysis Based on the Multiple Logistic Regression and Backward Stepwise Model Selection Methods “at the ICAMEIT 2019 conference in Barcelona, Spain (Nov. 3–4, 2019). Professor Dhameeth also was appointed to conduct workshops on “Marketing Analytics and Artificial Intelligence for all the private and public universities in Sri Lanka through an invitation extended from that country’s Ministry of Higher Education via its Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Gehan Dhameeth, assistant professor of business, attended the Digital Marketing Conference (DIGIMARCON) held May 9 and 10, 2019 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. He also:

  • successfully completed the certification examination to qualify to serve as a Certified Data Analyst (CIW);
  • peer reviewed an article, “Self-construal on Brand Fan Pages: The Mediating Roles of Para-social Interaction and Engagement on Brand Loyalty,” for publication in Journal of Brand Management as a reviewer for the journal.
  • and was appointed as editorial board member of the International Journal of Data Science and Analysis.
  • Other recent publications included: the article, “Artificial Intelligence in Marketing Decisions” in Biznomics magazine in Sri Lanka and a paper on “Predictive Modeling of the Brand Equity: Analysis Based on Multiple Logistic Regression and Backward Stepwise Model Selection Methods” in the International Journal of Data Science and Analysis (IJDSA): ISSN: 2575-1883 (Print)/ ISSN: 2575-1891 (Online). In August, he was accepted to present the latter paper at the 2019 International Multidisciplinary Conference on Advances in Management, Engineering, Information Technology and Tourism (ICAMEIT’19) in Barcelona, Spain, Nov. 3-4, 2019.
  • Professor Dhameeth completed an M.Sc. degree in business data analytics at Maryville University.

Gehan Dhameeth, Assistant Professor of Business, co-authored a paper; “The Millennials: Insights to Brand Behavior for Brand Management Strategies” in the Journal of Management and Strategy in June 2018. The co-authors are Babijtchouk Olga (Wells 2018), Dames D. David (Wells 2019), Sleezer Adam (Wells 2018) & Smith Elliott (Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology- Wells College).

Professor Dhameeth, as a chair of the Business Track, presented a paper on “The Millennials: Insights to Brand Behavior for Brand Management Strategies” at the WEI International Academic Conference at the Harvard Faculty Club, Boston, USA, August 1, 2018.

Gehan Dhameeth, Assistant Professor of Business, presented a conceptual paper at Fifth International MT Conference, December 27-28, 2017, Milan, Italy. The paper was on “Modeling Moderating Effects of Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) and Referral Value (CRV) on Customer Service of Frontline Employees for Customer and Organizational Satisfaction: A Comparative Analysis”. This paper was co-authored by Danielle M. King (Economics and Management Major -Wells College 2015), Gehan S. Dhameeth (Wells College) & Jung Seek Kim (Zeigler College of Business, Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania​)

Dr. Dhameeth was also invited to join the Journal of Brand Management (ISSN: 1350-231X -JBM) editorial team as a reviewer.
