Living with a roommate is a great experience. It helps you learn more about yourself and about how to communicate and relate effectively to others. Knowing how to take responsibility for yourself and how to respect others are valuable skills in all relationships.

Whether you were friends before moving in or met for the first time when you became roommates, living together successfully takes compromise and cooperation. You should not expect that your roommate will be your best friend, but you should work together to build a healthy relationship with each other built on mutual respect. Building a positive relationship is a process; it does not happen overnight and takes effort.

Yes, housing is available for students that are registered for the following fall semester. Information about summer housing is sent to all residents in April.

Summer storage is available to those students that returning to Wells for the following Fall and live more than 3 hours drive away. Information on storage is sent to all residents in April

In the fall, move-in day for new residents is the Friday before classes start. For returning residents, move-in day is the Sunday before classes start. More information on the day’s schedule will be sent to residents the first week in August. In the spring, move-in day is the Sunday before classes start for all residents.

Yes, the meal plan is required for students living in the residence hall. Residents receive 19 meals per week and $100 of Dining Dollars to use in The Well, The Grind, or the Campus Store. All other meals are served in the dining hall. If you have food allergies or other concerns you’d like to discuss with our food services partner, Hallmark Dining at hallmarkdining@wells.edu.

Students who require special housing accommodations should contact the Coordinator of Accessibility & Learning Support to make sure we can assist with any special accommodations. Requests should be submitted by July 1 (for fall) or December 10 (for spring). 

Returning students can pick their room for the next year if they have registered prior to the room draw date. New residents are assigned to rooms based on the date we received their deposit. New students also can submit roommate requests at each of our Summer Orientation sessions.
