Green Dot Active Bystander Program

The Wells College Green Dot Active Bystander Prevention Program empowers the campus community to prevent and end violence and harm.
Our goal-oriented responsibility is to strengthen two cultural norms at Wells College:
  1. Violence and harm have no place at Wells College.
  2. Everyone must do their part to maintain a safe campus.

To strengthen these norms, this program engages the Wells College community to think and behave proactively to stop violence before it happens and to think and behave reactively to stop violence when it occurs.

Did you know?

Violence and harm include, but are not limited to, physical, verbal, social, financial, emotional, and psychological.

Our program’s motto is that no one has to do everything, but everyone has to do something.

What is an Active Bystander?

A bystander is an individual who is present at an event or incident. This program educates and prepares the Wells College community to actively (proactive and reactive) intervene as active bystanders before, during, and after violence or harm has occurred.
