As a thought leader in the digital world, social media, and eLearning space, the Wells College Institute for Workforce Partnerships (WFP) is excited to offer a Digital Citizenship certificate in partnership with Neptune Navigate for Business. This Digital Citizenship certificate is an industry-recognized verifiable credential that provides an understanding of the key characteristics that define a responsible digital citizen and why these matter in the workplace. The certificate includes comprehensive online training modules that teach employees how to be responsible online. The Digital Citizenship certificate will be offered independently and as the foundation for all Wells WFP certificate programs.

Digital Citizenship modules are accessible from any connected device and are presented in short 8–10-minute videos, with key takeaways, a short quiz, and a certificate of completion. Core modules include:

Workplace Etiquette

Treating colleagues with respect both online and in person is a core requirement for any healthy working environment. But the online world has additional pitfalls all employees need to be aware of.

Digital Footprint

What your employees do and post online for professional and personal reasons reflect not only on them, but on your company as well. Teaching employees how to actively manage digital footprints and to think before they post can help ensure their reputation - and yours - stays positive.

Privacy & Tech Laws

While nothing online is ever private, there are things we can do to help maintain confidentiality of company materials. In addition, employees should be aware of the ever-changing landscape of laws governing the digital world.

Media Literacy

Every business today must deal with the digital world one way or another. Learning how to spot “fake news” and deliberate misinformation can help your business avoid embarrassing mistakes online.

Cybersecurity

Phishing attacks and ransomware are dramatically increasing across all business sectors. Teaching your employees how to spot these attacks as well as how to safeguard critical company information can help you avoid costly mistakes.

In addition to the core modules, several training modules are available to address Industry-Specific needs including:

Seasonal

If you routinely hire part-time or seasonal employees, such as a waterpark, theme park, or other entertainment venue, then you are probably dealing with teens who live in the digital world. This stand-alone lesson helps teach them the dos and don’ts when they are online.
