Wells will again be participating in the Campus Crunch, a state-wide observance of World Food Day, celebrating healthy, local food. To observe the Campus Crunch here on campus, Hallmark Dining will be offering locally grown apples and apple treats on Thursday, Oct. 22 during Dining Hall hours.

Note: Those hand apples and apple treats will be available to the campus community in the entry to the Dining Hall, so even if you don’t plan to pay to go to the Dining Hall for lunch, you can feel free to stop by and take a locally grown apple to “crunch into” as well as a wrapped baked apple bar made by the Hallmark chefs. Enjoy eating “local”!

In the run-up to the Campus Crunch, the Center for Sustainability invites you to participate in a Virtual Apple Picking event. The survey link below describes six apple varieties available from local fruit grower, Long Point Orchard. Pick your personal favorite – let’s see which apple variety our campus community prefers.
