On Saturday, September 12, Professors Gerardo Cummings, Kevin Miles, Daniel Renfrow and six Wells students volunteered with the 2015 AIDS Ride for Life. The group staffed the Verdi Signs Pit Stop in Montezuma, where they distributed drinks and snacks to riders completing the 100-mile course around Cayuga Lake.
This year marks the College’s fourth year of volunteering with the ride. The College became involved with the Ride for Life when Gabrielle Cook ‘13 completed a sociology internship with the Southern Tier AIDS Program (http://www.stapinc.org/), which provides supportive services to HIV+ persons and state of the art prevention education. The 2015 AIDS Ride for Life has raised over $200,000 thus far, and incoming donations will be counted through the end of September.
