The Kids Are Not Alright

How will Veronica Sawyer survive her senior year? In the hellscape of Westerberg High School, the almighty trio of Heathers reign supreme, jocks beat up nerds, outsiders are bullied into submission, and well-meaning adults just don’t get it. Veronica battles her way to popularity, love, and a new sense of herself (with some casualties along the way). Can’t she just be seventeen? This contemporary pitch-black musical comedy is adapted from the 1989 cult-classic film. Featuring a cast of fifteen Wells College students and staff, this production is the senior thesis and directing debut of Kaleigh Smith ’23.
