Process Announced for Prorated Refunds of Room & Board Costs for Spring 2020

Students may opt to either have a credit applied to their upcoming fall semester bill, or have a check sent to their permanent address.
May 15, 2020

As a result of the COVID 19 pandemic, Wells College will be refunding a portion of this semester’s room and board fees to students who lived on campus and/or had paid for a meal plan this spring.

We are happy to share that these adjustments have now been processed. Students may view their account balance/credit balance by logging into the Globe per the instructions below:

  1. Log in to the Globe (global.wells.edu) with your student ID and password.
  2. Select the Students tab at the top, then click on Pay My Bill in the menu at left.
  3. Review your current bill by selecting See Charges and Pay Bill.

How the Adjusted Amounts Were Determined

These room and board adjustments were determined on a prorated basis, taking into consideration one half of the spring 2020 charges, and taking into consideration the student’s previously existing financial aid and scholarship credits.

Note: students who have previous unpaid charges on their Wells account have had the refund applied to those unpaid charges.

Two Options for Receiving Your Refund

Students who have a credit balance on their Wells College account may choose either to 1) receive a refund, or 2) have the credit applied to your fall 2020 semester:

  • If you would like to receive a check payment for your refund: no response is necessary on your part.
  • If you wish to have the credit applied to your fall 2020 bill: please email the business office at accounting@wells.edu by no later than this Wednesday, May 20, 2020.

We will begin processing refund payments after May 20 to allow students adequate time to respond back to the business office, should they wish to have this credit applied to the fall 2020 semester.

Checks will be made payable to the student and mailed to the student’s Legal Home Permanent (LHP) address that is on file with the registrar’s office.
