Majors

All programs contain cross-disciplinary elements and explore some of the most exciting areas of current research.
A student's major will focus and organize their studies year by year, resulting in a bachelor's degree in their major field. Each major holds its own list of required courses and related activities. Speak to your faculty advisor about when and how to choose a major. Though it isn't required, many students build on their education by also choosing a minor—or two—or a second major in a different field. Each option brings its own additional academic requirements as well as valuable experience and expertise. Each academic program page notes whether a major or minor is available, and requirements can be found in the academic catalog.

Wells College has an integrative liberal arts curriculum designed to prepare students for the leadership roles they will assume in all areas of life in the 21st century.  These majors, which drive a student's education and ground it within a specific discipline or specialization, share traits, practices, and social space with other disciplines in the real world and on campus.
