Wells College, in partnership with the Wells College Association for Alumnae and Alumni (WCA), seeks nominations for the Young Alumni Outstanding Achievement Award. This Award recognizes a recent graduate who has shown extraordinary achievement in professional, philanthropic, and or service work—within the first decades following graduation.
In 2014, Wells and the WCA established the award, which is given each fall at Fall Weekend. Each year the award is given in honor or memory of an alumna that embodies the spirit of this award and serves as an aspirational figure for others. Past honorees are:
2014 President Emerita Lisa Marsh Ryerson '81
2015 E. Margie Matthews Filter Hostetter '62
2016 Carolyn Bunn Wood '52
2017 Jay-Dee Taylor Reiche '52
The recipient of this award should possess leadership qualities in her/his community, philanthropic endeavors and chosen profession. In the spirit of the Wells College community, the recipient of this award will be stellar advocates for the College, a liberal arts education and life-long learning. Criteria:
Must be a Wells College graduate within the last 20 years
Should demonstrate and participate in forwarding Wells College in some capacity (e.g., volunteer service, philanthropic support, etc.)
Should be establishing themselves in her/his designated area of vocation.
Should be involved in civic engagement in some level in her/his local community or the global community.
Should be using her/his Wells education and preparation to honor her/his alma mater.
For full consideration, nominations should be received by July 20, 2018.
