Fall Break 2018

Important Dates

Fall Break is quickly approaching! All classes end on Friday, Oct. 5, 2018 at 4:20 p.m., and will resume on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 8:00 a.m. All residence halls will remain open during fall break 2018.


If students will be staying on campus (including in Fairlane) for any portion of fall break (i.e., spending the night on or after Oct. 5 or returning to campus before Oct. 9), they will need to register with the Office of Residence Life. Please note that any students found on campus during fall break who are not registered may be asked to leave, and will be subject to a fine.

All registrations must be received by Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 4:30 p.m.

Leaving Campus

If a student is not staying on-campus during Fall Break, students are requested to complete the following checklist for their room/apartment:

  1. Close and lock windows, and close window shades.
  2. Unplug all appliances and electrical devices in the room, including alarm clocks. Refrigerators may remain plugged in.
  3. Empty trash cans in the room.
  4. Remove all perishables and food items in the room.
  5. Turn off all lights.
  6. Lock the door.

Dining Services

During fall break, the dining hall and on-campus dining services will not be open or available for students staying during fall break. Any student staying on campus over fall break will be responsible for their own meals.

The last regular meal served in the dining hall (via regular meal card "swipes:") will be dinner on Friday, Oct. 5. Dinner will be served during regular hours that night; Pizza315 will not be open during the break.

Regular meal times will resume with dinner on Tuesday, Oct. 9, along with Pizza315, as normal.

When completing the form, please select the location, date and time from the list below that you would like to be picked up. The locations, dates and times are limited to those listed below:

Departure Dates:
Thursday, Oct. 4 through Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018

The following times are when the shuttle leaves Wells College for departures:

Ithaca Bus/Airport
7:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 4:30 p.m.

Syracuse Bus/Airport
7:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 4:30 p.m.

Rochester Airport
9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Arrival back from break date:
Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018

The following times are when the shuttle leaves Wells College for arrivals:

Ithaca Bus/Airport
7:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 4:30 p.m., and 7:30 p.m.

Syracuse Bus/Airport
7:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Rochester Airport
9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Please schedule your arrival to these locations as close to the departure time of the shuttle. The shuttle will not be waiting at the airport/bus station for arrivals. It will pick up students who are already at the location, and then leave.

The deadline to submit your request is Monday, Oct. 1, 2018. Any transportation request outside of the posted dates and times will be denied. Failure to schedule transportation by the deadline, or showing up without a reservation, will result in a fine and/or suspension of transportation services for the rest of the semester!
