The Learning Commons at Wells features new faces and spaces as we head into the Spring 2017 semester.

Randy DeVett-McKeon joins us as the Assistant Director of Student Success and Coordinator of Disability Services. Randy most recently worked at Ithaca College as an Academic Advisor, and she also worked at Le Moyne College and Syracuse University. Randy has a master's in Higher Education from Syracuse University, a master's in General Education Studies from University at Albany, and a bachelor's in Elementary Education from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania.

Samira Korgan joins us as the Assistant Director of Student Success and Coordinator of the Writing Center. Samira recently completed her master's in English with a concentration in Rhetoric and Composition from St. John's University in Queens, N.Y., where she also completed her bachelor's in English. She brings a wealth of experience in running a Writing Center as well as experience setting up a new Writing Center on SJU's Paris campus.

Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to stop by the Learning Commons in the Library to meet and welcome Randy and Samira as well as check out the brand new space for the Writing Center. The newly constructed Writing Center was made possible by a grant from the Ruth M. Hagedorn Foundation and in memory of Kathryn Ziegenfus Mueller '22. The space is multi-purpose space so in addition to the Writing Center, it will house all Peer Tutoring at the College and provide a quiet yet cozy space for students to work and relax.

Wells College promises a relevant liberal arts and sciences education. Intellectually challenging. Reinterpreted for today. Classroom teaching combined with hands-on learning. Wells graduates enter the world prepared for successful futures.
