Employee Awards with Gerardo Cummings and President de Witt

Wells College faculty and staff gathered today for the 7th annual Employee Recognition Breakfast to thank community members for their efforts to support Wells’ mission over the past year, present gifts to those employees who have reached milestone years of service, and honor several with Awards for Excellence.

“This is a time to celebrate,” said President Thomas de Witt at the ceremony, “to acknowledge what has been accomplished and contributed, and to look ahead at what is possible. We hope these tokens of appreciation will be a meaningful reminder of our gratitude for all you do at Wells.”

Awards for Excellence

President de Witt also granted Awards for Excellence to four members of the community. Each recipient was nominated by their colleagues and selected by Wells’ senior staff. They were:

  • Terri Culver, Office Manager for Admissions, for handling multiple tasks with efficiency and ease, staying attuned to details and helping both internal and external audiences;
  • Gerardo Cummings, Assistant Professor of Spanish, for his passion for teaching and engaging with students and his incredibly active presence on campus;
  • David Foote, Assistant Director of Communications, for care and sensitivity to writing and editing and for assisting colleagues in a thoughtful way; and
