Wells College’s Vice President for Advancement Michael McGreevey has been elected president for the Finger Lakes Chapter of the Association for Fundraising Professionals for 2013. The Association for Fundraising Professionals (AFP) represents 30,000 members in 222 chapters throughout the world, working to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education and certification programs.
The Finger Lakes chapter of AFP serves professionals and community in the Finger Lakes region of Upstate New York. The organization sponsors monthly professional development luncheons for members and non-members on various topics pertinent to the profession as well as holding an annual summer conference and a National Philanthropy Day awards luncheon in November.
McGreevey joined Wells’ staff as vice president for advancement in the spring of 2008 and has been involved with AFP since 2010 as a member, board member and on various committees. He was selected as a 2011 Chamberlain Scholar for the 48th AFP International Conference in Chicago and presented at a 2010 joint meeting of the AFP and Public Relations Society of America: Finger Lakes on the topic of advancement communications.
