BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The SUNY Brockport Golden Eagles scored three straight second half goals en route to a 4-2 comeback victory over the Wells College field hockey team on Wednesday afternoon in Brockport, N.Y. Elisabeth Rollo (Geneva, N.Y.) finished with one goal and one assist, Courtney Grosser (Penfield, N.Y.) added one goal, and Shelby Moszkowicz (Rochester, N.Y.) chipped in with an assist to pace the Express. With the loss the Express fall to 4-10 on the year while Brockport improves to 9-7 on the year.
Abby Eschen (Cazenovia, N.Y.) led Brockport with one goal and one assist, while Kelly Ann-Henry (Glen Head, N.Y.), Nicole Atkins (East Amherst, N.Y.), and Madison Buckley (Liverpool, N.Y.) each tallied one goal apiece to round out the scoring for the Golden Eagles.
Rollo put the Express up early in the first period, scoring up close on the right side from a pass off the stick of Moszkowicz. The 1-0 lead would be short lived as the Brockport evened the score at one on an unassisted goal by Eschen less than two minutes later.
The game remained knotted at one well into the second half, until Grosser slammed home a rebound off a shot from Rollo to give the Express a narrow 2-1 lead with 22-minutes to play.
It would be all Brockport from there as they would go on to score three straight goals in a span of less than ten minutes to seal the 4-2 victory.
Brockport controlled the majority of the game outshooting the Express 35-7, while holding a 22-4 advantage in penalty corners.
Express goalie Amanda Catalano (Lockport, N.Y) finished with nine saves, while her Brockport counterpart Kasey Schreinner (Hamburg, N.Y.) finished with three saves.
The Express close out their home schedule on Sunday when they welcome Cedar Crest College to campus for a 1 p.m. match-up in Aurora.
