AURORA, N.Y. - The Wells College men’s soccer team fell 2-1 to North Eastern Athletic Conference opponent Keuka College on Thursday afternoon in Keuka Park, N.Y. Patrick Sodums (Candor, N.Y.) scored the lone goal for the Express (6-8, 3-4 NEAC) while David Kaus (Erie, Pa.) finished with four saves. Frank Lacovangelo and Nate Smith each tallied a goal for the Storm (7-3-1, 4-3 NEAC) while Derek Condon finished with 16 saves.

The Storm struck first in the 34th minute of play. Kaus made the initial save on shot from Keuka but Lacovangelo was there to put the rebound back for a 1-0 lead that would hold heading into the break.

Wells squared the game up at one apiece on an unassisted goal by Sodums in the 64th minute but the Storm answered back less than nine minutes later. Operating in the Express zone, Nate Schrieber sent a cross over to Smith who headed the ball past Kaus for the go ahead and, eventual game winning goal with ten minutes to play.

The Express were the aggressor from start to finish, firing 32 shots, including 17 on goal but Condon would be up to the task holding the Express to just one goal. Wells also held the advantage in corner kicks 6-3.

The Express return to action Saturday Oct. 22 when they take on the Morrisville State Mustangs at 1 p.m. in Aurora.
