Late Goal Lifts Saxons Past Express

ALFRED, N.Y. – The Alfred University men’s soccer team scored the goal ahead goal with 12 minutes remaining as the Saxons held on to defeat the Wells College Express 3-2 on Tuesday evening in Alfred. The Saxons improve to 3-3-1 on the season while the Express fall to 5-3 on the year.

Delroy Roberts (Kingston, Jamaica/Schenectady) and Luke Miller (New Hartford, N.Y./New Hartford) each scored for the Express while CJ Bayly (Waymart, Pa./Western Wayne) finished with three saves in the loss. Jeffery Thomas and Frankie Minnino each finished with one goal and one assist to pace the Saxons.

Alfred held a slight advantage in shots on goal (6-4) while both squads finished with five corner kicks each.

The Express return to action this Saturday when they welcome North Eastern Athletic Conference opponent Gallaudet University for a 3 p.m. match-up in Aurora.
