William Ganis
William Ganis, Associate Professor of Art History, had his feature article on Gerhard Richter, “Frames of Reference,” published in the Spring 2013 issue of Glass: The UrbanGlass Art Quarterly. The article discussed glass works made by this preeminent German painter throughout his career.
This winter, Dr. Ganis was a Juror (along with Beverly Semmes and Amy Schwartz) for the UrbanGlass Windgate Artist Fellowship, a prize enabling emerging artists to work with the UrbanGlass staff and use this Brooklyn institution’s glassmaking facilities towards the execution of specific projects
“Spirit/Practice” a text-conversation among Denis Bradette, William Ganis, Jennifer Macklem and Tony Martins was published in Guerilla Journal, of Montréal, QC, in issue 34, Winter 2013.
As director of Wells College’s String Room Gallery, Professor Ganis installed, promoted and opened the fourth show of the 2012-13 season, “Out of Rubble” curated by Susanne Slavick This exhibition about war and its consequences is on view from March 20 to April 16.
