Robert LoMascolo, lecturer in Book Arts, relaunched The Wells Book Arts Summer Institute this summer to rave reviews from instructors and participants. The Summer Institute allows participants from around the country to spend an intense week of class with leading experts in the field on the Wells campus. Classes this summer included paper marbling, woodblock printing, letterpress, papermaking, box making and calligraphy. Images from the institute may be viewed at https://wellsbookartscenter.org/ .
Additionally, Robert completed letterpress printing Edgar Rice Burroughs’ “At the Earth’s Core, The Letterpress Edition” for ERB Books. This was a multi-month project consisting of a thousand copies of a three hundred plus page book all printed on vintage letterpress equipment.
