Start life at Wells College early! You will join useful workshops designed to help you excel in classes, sight-see in nearby cities, and enjoy picnics by the lake! This program is free and open to all incoming students!

Student Success Workshops (subject to change)

Express 2 Success workshops is designed to help you succeed in the rigorous academic atmosphere in college. Workshop topics include, but are not limited to: 

  • Maintaining high academic performance while in college
  • How to efficiently study and take notes using college textbooks
  • Maximizing time management while juggling classes and extracurricular activities
  • How to take care of physical and mental health while in college

Fields Trips to Local Attractions (subject to change)

To become familiar with the local communities, students will also go on excursions to nearby cities and cultural attractions such as, but not limited to:

  • Gorges, waterfalls, and the Commons cultural shopping center in Ithaca
  • Rosamond Gifford Zoo and Destiny USA in Syracuse
  • Picnic by the lake at Finger Lakes Long Point State Park
  • S’mores at the College Boathouse
  • Harriet Tubman Home and the Schweinfurth Art Center in Auburn

Important Required Forms

Since Express 2 Success participants will be arriving on campus two weeks earlier than other first-year students, It is important that you submit all required documentation before your arrival on campus. You will not be allowed to move into your assigned residence hall and participant in the Exress 2 success program without these forms. Important required forms:

  1. Housing Preference Form
  2. Emergency Contact Form
  3. Housing Roommate Questionnaire
  4. FERPA Release Form
  5. The Health Report

Packing List

Express 2 Success participants will move into their assigned residence halls upon arrival on campus, so there is no further moving necessary once the program ends and the school year begins. What should you bring when you move in? What should you NOT bring with you to campus? See the full packing list and other important information from the Office of Residence Life.

First-years are allowed to bring vehicles on campus. Students must bring vehicle registration to the Office of Campus Safety in order to receive a parking permit before parking on campus. For questions and further guidance, please contact the Office of Campus Safety at 315-364-3229.
