Synopsis
Abbie Webb, sustainability director for Casella Waste Systems Inc., will explain how this leader in the waste management industry is using a multi-stakeholder perspective to guide its ongoing sustainability efforts and to more deeply align its impacts with broader societal goals and environmental limits. At its core, the company believes it exists to build and grow people, to protect environmental and public health, and to create and share value with customers and communities. In short, Casella will achieve its sustainability goals by helping others achieve theirs. Casella’s recently issued sustainability report lays out ten goals for the year 2030, including goals around waste reduction and recycling, renewable energy production, greenhouse gas emissions, fleet fuel efficiency, and sustainably growing its net climate benefit factor.
