This Tuesday, Nov. 20, the Aurora Historical Society, 371 Main St., will present the second exciting  “New Voices, New Visions” showcase of Wells’ emerging artists and writers. This session will introduce visual artist Chris Price, fiction writers Ky Peisher and Arielle Canate, and essayist Katelynn Commisso as they explore themes of imagination. Last week’s program was stellar and you may expect the same on Tuesday.

The brilliant Wells-focused exhibit “A House Tells a Story: The Art, Scholarship and Friends of Else and Otto Fleissner” closes right after next Tuesday’s program. See it, or see it again, this Saturday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., or at your convenience through Docent-on-Call (315.246.1130).

The next exhibit, “The Work of Our Hands: Heritage Skills Then and Now,” will open Tuesday, Nov. 27, and through the month of December will showcase local artisans on both Tuesdays and Saturdays. Drop by to hear short talks on intriguing topics, watch expert woodworkers, try your hand at a range of old and new fiber arts, pick up some great recipes, and — not least — do a little no-stress shopping for unique gifts made in our own community and region. Accessible to all, and always free!
