The purpose of the Healthy Relationships workshop is to brainstorm with students the characteristics of a healthy and unhealthy personal romantic-relationship, familial, friendly and otherwise. Students will determine for each individual what expectations they would set for future relationships and those they’d want to establish in current relationships to feel positive about themselves and those around them. We will discuss action steps to take for resetting relationships, and challenge one another to think through the process of resetting expectations in those relationships that are identified as “toxic,” or “unhealthy.” We will also analyze the concept of a “thought-partner”: a trusted ally to speak with about other relationships and who will help that individual in the process of strengthening those bonds.

Carlo Lindo is a graduate of Babson College in Wellesley, MA where he completed a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in accounting. He went on to work at The Posse Foundation’s New York City office where he identified, recruited and trained high school students to be placed in “Posses” and matriculate to college in cohorts to motivate and support one another. Carlo is currently the Posse Program Manager at Cornell University, where he supports the Scholars and Faculty Mentors that make up the remarkable community of hard working leaders and change-makers. He enjoys being a thought partner and advisor to anyone seeking assistance and encourages that everyone is open to asking for help.

The mission for the Men’s Leadership Conference is to create a space for our students who identify as male to explore the meaning of masculinity in their own terms and to empower them to look at masculinity more objectively. Facilitators will cover an array of topics that will help students experiment with different roles and ideas about leadership.
