The Sullivan Center for Business and Entrepreneurship presents the annual “Be Your Own Boss” Business Idea Competition to wrap up Entrepreneurship Week 2018. The final presentations and judging will take place at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 1, in the Hostetter Lecture Room (209) of Stratton Hall. Admission is free, and all are welcome to attend.
During Entrepreneurship Week, students who registered for the competition will recieve mentorship and advice from faculty and professionals. They develop a written business plan, and based on their progress and potential, the finalists pitch their original business idea to a panel of judges. The winners in each field earn cash awards, with the potential of additional incentives to pursue their business’ start-up campaign and give rise to a brand new real-world business.
Participants and information about the week’s events will be available soon.
The Be Your Own Boss competition draws students from across our liberal arts and sciences majors. Last year, 31 teams—each consisting of one to four Wells students—participated.
