Fall Weekend

There is no better time of year to enjoy Wells, bursting with beautiful vibrant fall colors and cool weather by the lake. Join us for great times with friends, new and old.
This year Fall Weekend for alumni will coincide with President Gibralter’s Inauguration. We want to be sure you know that you are invited to join us for all of the activities! Hopefully, you’ve already received your invitation to the Inauguration, and this is your invitation to all of the activities planned especially for you by your Alumni Association. From honoring outstanding young alumni to chatting with students, the weekend will be filled with wonderful Wells fun.

Friday, October 14

Noon – 4:30 p.m. Registration Nametags and information packets available. Lobby, Pettibone House.

12:30 – 4:30 p.m. THE ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE Sustainability and Civic Engagement An afternoon of learning opens with a talk by Paul Rogat Loeb, author of the College's common read, The impossible will take a little while: Perseverance and hope in troubled times.
Phipps Auditorium, Macmillan Hall

6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Young Alumni Awards Dinner Join us for The Young Alumni Award for Outstanding Achievement given in recognition and memory of Carolyn Bunn Wood '52. This year's recipients are Adrianna Anderson '10, Rozana Majumdar '09 and Molly Moen '99. Read more about this year's recipients Sommer Center, Helen Fairchild Smith Hall.

7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Fall Fireside Fun with FARGO & Freshmen. Enjoy a fall evening filled with pumpkin carving, s'mores and getting to know the Class of 2020. Boathouse.

Saturday, October 15

8:00 – 11:00 a.m. Registration Nametags and information packets available. Lobby, Pettibone House.

9:00 – 10:45 a.m. COMMUNITY SERVICE ACTIVITIES Hands in Action Work side-by-side with students, faculty, staff, alumni and guests in a variety of hands-on, indoor and outdoor community service projects that embody the spirit of sustainability across the Wells community. Various locations, sign-up sheets will be available.

11:00 a.m. TREE PLANTING Hands in Action Join all service volunteers as we plant a tree to commemorate President Gibralter's Inauguration. Lawn by Cleveland Hall and Pettibone House, across from Zabriskie Hall.

1:30 p.m. THE INSTALLATION CEREMONY Installation of Jonathan Gibralter as PresidentThe formal installation ceremony features the traditional Wells Fargo stagecoach, academic procession, delegates, alumni, class representatives, greetings and special presentations. Procession begins at Main Building. Ceremony takes place outdoors at Macmillan Hall Circle.

4:00 – 6:00 p.m. FARM-TO-TABLE COMMUNITY CELEBRATION DINNER A taste of Wells The entire Wells Community comes together for a locally-sourced, sustainable dinner to welcome Jon and Laurie Gibralter and their family as we celebrate all that is Wells. All are warmly invited. Ryerson Commons, Dining Hall, Main Building. 

8:00 p.m. Party at the Pub: The WELL. Come enjoy an evening with alums and students at the hippest spot on campus. Helen Fairchild Smith Hall.

Sunday, October 16

7:30 – 8:45 a.m. Breakfast with the President and Senior Cabinet Dr. Jonathan Gibralter and members of the President's Cabinet will provide an opportunity for you to learn about College initiatives and priorities. Thomas E.J. de Witt Lecture Hall, Zabriskie Hall.

Fitness Center Hours: Complimentary lifetime membership to alumni. Sat. & Sun. 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Schwartz Athletic Center.

College Store Special Weekend Hours: Stock up on your Wells College gear at 10% off. Coupon in registration folder. Sat. 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., 1st floor,Zabriskie Hall.

The Grind. Stop in for a coffee/tea and breakfast snacks, at the student run café. Sat. 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.,1st Floor, Zabriskie Hall.
