Whether you're just down the road or coming to us from the other side of the country, we'd love to have you join our community and finish your college journey here at Wells! Wells College defines a transfer student as one who has accrued the equivalent of one semester (12 semester hours) or more of college credit following secondary school graduation. Although a student may transfer any number of semester hours, one must complete 60 semester hours at Wells to fulfill the College's residency requirement.
Students wishing to transfer to Wells should be in good academic standing at the last college attended. Additionally, Wells will only transfer course credits towards the Wells degree from institutions that are fully regionally accredited.

Wells makes transferring easy by providing students with credit evaluations prior to enrolling. You will know exactly what requirements you have fulfilled and which you will need to complete in order to receive your degree, before you ever step into the classroom. Students also benefit from advisement and orientation programs. Wells is dedicated to each transfer student's specific educational goals.
Wells College Transfer Scholarships are awarded to students who have demonstrated academic excellence in their college coursework. Students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better to qualify. Recipients are selected by the Admissions Committee are awarded up to $10,000 per year. Phi Theta Kappa students (transfer students who are members of this two-year college honor society) will automatically receive a bonus scholarship of $2,000. Proof of PTK membership must be submitted with admissions application.
Articulation agreements are signed legal contracts between colleges and universities to establish a seamless transfer pathway for students between their institutions and/or specific academic programs. If you are a student from one of the affiliated institutions that has an articulation agreement with Wells College, you may benefit from many advantages such as guaranteed admission and exclusive scholarships. Please note that to be considered for financial aid, applicants must submit a completed FAFSA and all Financial Aid Transcripts when applying for admission. Presidential Scholarship Transfer Agreement with Cayuga Community College: Students enrolled in Cayuga Community College who are Cayuga Presidential Scholars will be guaranteed admission to Wells College and automatically receive the President's Award scholarship. Eligible students must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and have completed at least two semesters of full-time study at Cayuga Community College, as well as submitted all appropriate transfer application materials to Wells College.
Monroe Honors Scholars Partnership: Students who have enrolled at Monroe Community College for at least two semesters and earn a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 will be guaranteed admission to Wells College with the Transfer Student Scholarship. Additionally, students who complete a minimum of 2 Honors designated courses and have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher will receive a $1,000 bonus scholarship from Wells College.
Tompkins Cortland Pathway to Wells: Tompkins Cortland Community College students with a GPA of 3.0 or better enrolled in a parallel academic program will be guaranteed admission to Wells College through Pathway to Wells with a Transfer Student Scholarship.
Finger Lakes Community College Honors Studies Scholars: Students who have completed no less than 2 semesters at Finger Lakes Community College and earned a GPA of 3.0 or better will be guaranteed admission to Wells College with the Transfer Student Scholarship. Students who complete a minimum of 2 Honors designated courses at FLCC with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher will receive an additional scholarship of $1,000. Alternatively, students who complete a minimum of 15 points of Honors Studies experience, graduate with an Honors Studies Scholar designation from FLCC and have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher will receive an additional $2,000 scholarship. (Please note that students who receive the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship from Wells College are not eliglbe for the Honors Scholars Bonus.)
