Applications for Spring and Fall 2019 now open!
We want to get to know you, not just the numbers on your transcript. Applications are reviewed by people and not algorithms. We welcome students with all types of life experiences to apply and join our community.

How to Apply as First-Year Student

Step 1: Submit an Application to Wells College

Use one of the following methods to apply to Wells College for Spring or Fall 2019:

Step 2: Provide Required Materials
  • Official high school transcripts and school report
  • One teacher recommendations from 11th and/or 12th grade teachers in academic subject areas
  • Unique Expression: To help us better understand your achievements and potential, we welcome any additional material that showcases your unique personality and talents. These can be but are not limited to: Personal essays, your Zeemee Profile, a résumé, creative portfolio, and/or video recording of a musical or athletic performance.
  • International students only: English proficiency test scores. See here for more details.
  • Students applying for first-year admission should present a secondary school program with a minimum of four academic subjects each year, including:

    • four years of English
    • three or more years of mathematics
    • three or more years of social science
    • two or more years of laboratory science
    • one or more years of a foreign language
Step 3: Financial Aid

To help us provide you with the most complete financial aid award package, you must submit a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This can be done electronically or by paper. If you have questions about scholarships, student loans, or how to file the FAFSA, our Office of Financial Aid is always happy to help! 

Important Deadlines

Early Action Admission

December 15. This is a non-binding admissions option. Students who wish to receive their decision early should submit their applications through the Early Action program.

Early Decision Admission

December 15. Students who regard Wells as their top choice are encouraged to apply under the early decision option. This is a binding admissions option. If admitted, early decision applicants agree to accept Wells' offer of admission and withdraw their applications to all other institutions by January 15. Early decision students must submit their enrollment deposits by February 15.

Regular Admission

March 1

Submit your completed FAFSA to Wells College before December 1 to receive a bonus grant of $500!
