During the month of July, the board identified the members of the Strategic Plan Steering Committee and defined its strategic outcomes and key measures for success.
By the end of July, the committee defined four key strategic objectives (using the input from the current strategic plan and the Bell Tower Committee recommendations) to help meet those outcomes, and develop multiple cross-campus teams — including dozens of students, faculty, staff and alumnae/alumni — to help develop action plans.
The Strategic Plan Steering Committee’s goal is to present a finalized prioritized strategic plan by Oct. 15, 2020 to the Board of Trustees for discussion and approval. (The original deadline of Oct. 1 was pushed back by two weeks due to the need for faculty and staff to focus on the reopening of campus in late August.) To meet that goal, each team has been asked to submit its action plans to the steering committee by Sept. 15.
As the committee continues to work with internal and external constituencies on this plan, it intends on sharing regular updates approximately once a month.
