Internationally acclaimed jazz violinist, Miri Ben-Ari to headline at Wells College
Isaac Stern coached her as a child, Charlie Parker's jazz grabbed her while
training in the Israeli Army, Betty Carter chose her for Carter's last
"jazz ahead" program and Claude "Fiddler" Williams requested that she play
at his 90th birthday party. Ben-Ari has recorded and performed with the
Israeli Army String Quartet, the late Betty Carter, Les Paul, Luther Vandross,
The Manhattan Transfer, Wynton Marsalis, and others.
On Saturday, February 10, 2001, internationally acclaimed jazz violinist Miri Ben-Ari, will perform in Phipps Auditorium at 8:00 p.m. on the Wells College campus. The Village Voice writes, "Miri Ben-Ari plays the violin like her life depended on it."
