11-1-2011 - Smythe Earns NEAC Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week Honors

AURORA, N.Y. – Cassie Smythe (Eden, N.Y.) has been named the NEAC Women’s Soccer Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for her strong performance in goal this past week for the Express. The 5’6” freshmen goalie made 13 saves on the week, making four stops and registering her first shutout of the season in a 4-0 win over NEAC for Cazenovia College onWednesday and made nine stops during a hard-fought 2-1 loss to conference rival SUNY Cobleskill this past Saturday. Smythe finished the season with 83 saves.
