09-25-11 - Wells Falls to Becker in Overtime

LEICESTER, Mass.- Becker College defeated Wells College 2-1 in overtime, in non-conference women’s field hockey action at Alumni Field.
Wells got on the board in the 19th minute when Courtney Grosser (Penfield, N.Y.) put back a penalty corner, giving the Express a 1-0 advantage.
The score remained the same until the 41st minute when Michelle Griczika (Barre, Mass.) redirected a Victoria Sirchia (Goshen, Conn.) shot, tying game at one apiece.
The score remained deadlocked at 1-1 until Brooke Cote (Fitchburg, Mass.) scored the game winner just 00:53 into overtime, giving the Hawks a 2-1 victory.
Wells goalkeeper Amanda Catalano (Lockport, N.Y.) made seven saves, as the Express fall to 3-5 on the season.
Hawks goalie Samanthatha-Jo Dilkes (Little Falls, N.J.) made nine stops, as the Hawks ended a six game losing streak. The win ups the Hawks record to 2-7 on the season, while the Express fall to 3-6 on the season.
