Wells' Earth Day 2014 presentation by Marian Brown will help students make sustainable decisions in their own lives.
Hostetter Lecture Room (209), Stratton Hall
In this interactive presentation, Marian Brown will discuss ways in which Wells students can make more sustainable decisions and how their actions can have a positive impact and make Wells College a more sustainable institution.
Marian Brown will join the Wells community in June as director of the new Center for Sustainability and the Environment. She is currently special assistant for Campus and Community Sustainability in the Office of Civic Engagement at Ithaca College, where she provides staff support for the College’s sustainability initiative, hosts sustainability educational events and documents the college’s sustainability progress. On the Ithaca College campus she is a member of various sustainability-related groups, including the Presidents’ Climate Commitment committee that developed the college’s ambitious 40-year climate action plan.
In the local community, Marian serves on the boards of Sustainable Tompkins, Ithaca Carshare and a new Sustainability Center, and she is on the advisory committee for Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Environment Program.
