General Info

Wells College will host an upcoming visit from the C-SPAN Bus as it tours New York State. The bus will be stopping at Wells from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, and will be parked on the College’s Main Circle in the area between Main Building and Cleveland Hall. All members of nearby communities are welcome to stop by and see the bus’ interactive stations.

The bus contains interactive multimedia displays on a number of touch-screen computers demonstrating C-SPAN programming, information on how to follow the 113th Congress with C-SPAN’s Congressional Chronicle web site, the C-SPAN Video Library (an archive featuring 200,000 hours of C-SPAN programming), and more. Visitors can watch high-definition programs such as BookTV or American History TV, tune into live feeds of C-SPAN and C-SPAN2, learn about online resources available for classroom use or research, or browse information relevant to politics and public affairs, journalism, history, or broadcasting. C-SPAN staff will be on hand to explain information, take questions, and assist with the stations.

The tour is also promoting the second season of C-SPAN’s original series “First Ladies: Influence and Image.” Former First Lady Frances Folsom Cleveland, who was married to 22nd and 24th President Grover Cleveland, graduated from Wells College in 1885.
