The Hispanic Heritage Month Film Series presents a screening of the film "A Better Life" at 7:00 p,m. Tuesday, October 2 in room 108 of Cleveland Hall. This event is free and all are welcome to attend.
In this dramatic film, hardworking single father Carlos Galindo (played by Demián Bichir) lives life for a single purpose: to provide his teenage son with the opportunity for a better life. Director Chris Weitz crafts a powerful, emotional and ultimately uplifting look at the heroic struggle of immigrants in their quest for the American dream. Bichir's performance earned a 2011 Academy Award nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
