Wells College Choir Performs "Literary Connections and More"

The choir will feature holiday selections and choral works based on famous poetry.

Under the new choir director Dr. Carl Johengen, the Wells College Choir will perform a concert entitled “Literary Connections and More” on Sunday, December 14 at 4:00 P.M. in Barler Recital Hall, Wells College. The program includes choral works based on poetry by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Nathaniel Hawthorne, William Shakespeare, Christopher Marlowe, Edgar Allen Poe, Robert Louis Stevenson, and Langston Hughes. Also featured will be spirituals, holiday selections, and a couple of light-hearted numbers. The event is free and open to the public.

The Wells College Choir consists of the following singers: Emily Beeman, Brittany Bordeau, Jenna Buss, Mary Corbett, Gabe Cleveland, Danielle Crabtree, Danielle Cregan, Chelsea Rae Czechowski, Sarah Johnson, Natasha Kirkland, Shane Knezevich, Lexi Kreuzburg, Mitch Moulton, Brad Murray, Heidi Schlager, Diana Soler, Emily Tanner, Ashley Waelti, and Lindsey Wood.

Dr. Carl Johengen has earned a reputation of excellence as a conductor, singer, voice teacher, and composer. He holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Eastman School of Music, as well as the Master of Music degree in Conducting from the Ithaca College School of Music.
