Professors at Candace Collmer and Milene Morfei at Celebrating Scholarship and Engagement
Faculty played a critical role in the success of the CS&E Series.
The faculty at Wells played an integral role in the Celebrating Scholarship and Engagement Series, not only by organizing a full day of events each time, but by attending the lectures and contributing to the discussions with thoughtful questions and perspectives from multiple disciplines. Here, professors Milene Morfei (psychology) and Candace Collmer (biology) chat before a presentation during the Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Day.
Each day had 2-3 faculty or staff members that took charge of scheduling, organizing, and coordinating the events that took place. The fantastic events that took place during each are a testament to the dedication and thoroughness of our faculty members. The themes of each day and diversity of topics emphasized also demonstrate the wide range of specialties held by our faculty members.
The small size of Wells means that students don't just learn from professors as they come to class, but actively take opportunities to meet with professors outside of class for academic advice and support or additional explanation of coursework. Wells faculty members are available and personally involved in the successes of their students. The multidisciplinary expertise and commitment to craft found in the style of every professor makes Wells a remarkable institution.
