CSIZMAR AND LOTKOWICTZ EARN ALL-CONFERENCE HONORS

Aurora, NY- Seniors Jamie-Leigh Csizmar and Emily Lotkowictz have been named to the North Eastern Athletic Conference Women's Soccer All-Conference Third Team released on Wednesday by the NEAC office.

KEUKA OVERPOWERS EXPRESS

11/3/09
Keuka Park, NY- Courtney McLaughlin tallied a hat trick as #3 seed Keuka College rolled over #6 seed Wells College 6-0 in the opening round game of the North Eastern Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer Tournament on Tuesday evening at Keuka. Express goalie Britteney Laurenceau finished with ten saves in the loss. The Express finished the season 5-11-1 while Keuka improves to 10-7 and advances to the quarterfinals of the NEAC tournament against #2 seed SUNYIT set to be held on Thursday, November 5 at 2:00 pm at Penn St. Harrisburg.

WOMEN’S SOCCER EARNS #6 SEED; SET TO FACE KEUKA IN OPENING ROUND

Aurora, NY- The Wells women’s soccer team will enter their second straight North Eastern Athletic Conference tournament as the #6 seed. The Express will travel to #3 seed Keuka College to take on the Storm in the opening round of the NEAC Tournament on Tuesday, November 3rd at 2:00 pm. Wells enter the tournament with a 5-5 record in the NEAC and a 5-10-1 overall record. The Storm, 8-7 (8-2 NEAC), won the only meeting of the two teams this season 5-0 back on September 23rd.

NITTANY LIONS TAKE BITE OUT OF EXPRESS

Aurora, NY- Brooke Kern (Kutztown, PA) recorded a hat trick as the Penn St. Berks Nittany Lions rolled over the Express women’s soccer team 4-1 on Saturday afternoon at Wells. Emily Lotkowictz (Skaneateles) scored the lone goal for the Express. The Express finished the season at 5-10-1 (5-5 NEAC) while the Nittany Lions close out the year at 13-5 (8-2 NEAC).

MEN'S AND WOMEN'S SOCCER GAMES CANCELED

Aurora, NY- The women's soccer game against St. John Fisher at 3:00 pm and the men's soccer game scheduled for 3:30 pm against Utica College have been canceled due to poor field conditions as a result of the rain received over the last 24 hours. Both games will not be rescheduled.

EXPRESS CLINCH SECOND STRAIGHT PLAYOFF BIRTH WITH 10-0 THUMPING OF WILSON COLLEGE

Scranton, PA- Seven different player scored for the Wells women’s soccer team as the Express went on to blow out Wilson College 10-0, securing their second straight trip to the North Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament on Sunday afternoon in Scranton, PA. The Express improved to 5-4 in the NEAC and 5-9-1 overall while the loss drops Wilson to 0-12 on the year.

WOMEN'S SOCCER EARNS TIE AGAINST ALFRED

Aurora, NY- 110-minutes of soccer on the rain soaked pitch at Wells would not be enough to settle the score between the Alfred Saxons and the Wells Express women’s soccer teams as they played to a 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon in Aurora. Paige Stone scored the lone goal for the Express (4-9-1) while goalie Savannah Duh led the defense with 23 saves in net. Tracy McGinnity scored the only goal for the Saxons who moved to 4-8-3 with the tie.

EXPRESS BLANK CAZENOVIA FOR SECOND STRAIGHT WIN

Chittenango, NY- Rachel Mattraw had her corner kick deflect off a Cazenovia defender and into the goal as the Wells Express women’s soccer team held on for a 1-0 North Eastern Athletic Conference victory over the Cazenovia Wildcats on Sunday afternoon in Chittenango. Savannah Duh finished with eight saves in the shutout. The victory marks the second straight for the Express who improved to 4-9 (4-4 NEAC) while the Wildcats drop to 2-12 (2-5 NEAC).

STONES TURNS HAT TRICK IN 4-1 VICTORY OVER MORRISVILLE

Aurora, NY- Freshmen Paige Stone (Madison) recorded her first career hat trick and Rachel Mattraw (Chaumont) added a late insurance goal as the Wells women’s soccer team rolled to a 4-1 victory over the Morrisville Mustangs in North Eastern Athletic Conference action Thursday afternoon. The Express improved to 3-9 (3-4 NEAC) while the loss drops the Mustangs to 2-10 (1-6 NEAC) on the season.

SECOND HALF GOALS SINK EXPRESS

Bradford, PA- The Pitt-Bradford women’s soccer team scored three unanswered goals in the second half en route to 3-0 victory over the Wells Express on Tuesday afternoon at Bradford. Savannah Duh led the Express in goal with eight saves. With the loss the Express fall to 2-9 on the year while the Panthers improve to 7-6.

EXPRESS COME UP EMPTY AGAINST WILDCATS

Aurora, NY- The Wells College women’s soccer team was unable to solve the SUNY IT defense as the Express went on to lose 2-0 in North Eastern Athletic Conference play Saturday afternoon at Wells. Lauryne Zinter and Jane Burroughs each scored for the Wildcats who improved to 4-6(3-1 NEAC) with the victory. Savannah Duh aced the Express with six saves in net. With the loss Wells falls to 2-6(2-3 NEAC).

WOMEN'S SOCCER CRUISES TO 4-0 VICTORY

 

9/26/09
Aurora, NY– Four different players scored as the Express rolled to a 4-0 North Eastern Athletic Conference victory over the visiting Penn St. Abington Nittany Lions on Saturday at Wells. The Express controlled both sides of the ball, firing 29 shots while allowing just two shots from the Nittany Lions. Sara Petroski finished with 12 saves in the loss for the Nittany Lions who fell to 0-5 (0-2 NEAC); with the victory the Express improve to 2-6 (2-2 NEAC).

KEUKA ROLLS OVER EXPRESS

Aurora, NYThe Keuka College Storm scored 13-minutes into the first half and never looked back as they went on to defeat the Wells College women’s soccer team 5-0 in North Eastern Athletic Conference action on Wednesday afternoon at Wells. Nicole Sharik and Courtney McLaughlin each scored two goals for the Storm who improved to 3-3 (3-0 NEAC) on the year. Savannah Duh finished with four saves in net for the Express who fell to 1-6 (1-2 NEAC).

Harrisburg, PA –The Penn St. Harrisburg Nittany Lions used four second-half goals en-route to a 6-2 victory over the Wells College women’s soccer team in North Eastern Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon in Harrisburg, PA. Juli Vibbard(Burlington Flats) and Samantha Civilette(Fredonia) scored the only two goals for the Express who fell to 1-1 in the conference and 1-5 overall with the loss.

EXPRESS FALL TO D'YOUVILLE

The Wells College women’s soccer team let an early lead slip away as the D’Youville College Spartans went on to defeat the Express 4-2 Monday afternoon at Wells. Stephanie Lozzi paced the Spartans with two goals and one assist. Emily Lotkowictz (Skaneateles) and Samantha Civilette (Fredonia) each tallied a goal for the Express who, with the loss, fall to 1-4 on the year while the Spartans improve to 2-3.

EXPRESS GROUND SCREAMING EAGLES

Three different players scored as the Wells College women’s soccer team went on to shutout the College of St. Elizabeth Screaming Eagles 3-0 Saturday afternoon in Morristown, N.J. Emily Lotkowictz, Rebecca Furman, and Caitlyn Kubinski all scored for the Express who snapped a three game losing streak with the win. Savannah Duh and Britteney Laurenceau combined to record five saves in the shutout victory. Catherine De La Cruz finished with 13 saves in net for Eagles. With the win the Express earn their first victory of the season and improve to 1-3 on the season.

WOMEN’S SOCCER FALLS TO MEDAILLE

9/9/09
The Wells College women’s soccer team fell 5-0 to the Medaille College Mavaricks on Wednesday afternoon in Buffalo. The Mavericks outshot the Express 25-0 and held the advantage in corner kick 9-0. Britteney Laurenceau (New York) paced Wells in net finishing with 5 saves on the night.  Laura Freeman (Kenmore, NY) led the Mavericks with three goals while Katie Bush (Jamestown, NY) added two assist. The loss drops the Express to 0-3-0 on the season while the Mavericks earn their first win of the season and improve to 1-3-0.

 WOMEN'S SOCCER SHUTOUT BY HILBERT

9/1/09
Hilbert College scored three first half goals and added an insurance goal early in the second half as the Hawks rolled to a 4-0 shutout victory over the Wells College Express on Tuesday afternoon in Hamburg, NY. Brittany Laurenceau (New York) and Savanna Duh (South Bound Brook, N.J.) each combined for 10 saves in net for the Express as they fall to 0-1 on the season. With the win Hilbert improves to 2-1 on the season.

The Express will next open up their home schedule on Saturday, September 5th against SUNY Potsdam at 1:00 pm at Wells.
