Delroy Roberts scored
two goals and Alioune Sene added a goal and an assist as the
Wells men’s soccer team rolled to a 4-0 shutout victory over
Penn St. Berks on Senior Day at Wells. The Express finish the
season at 6-12 while Penn St. Berks falls to 1-16.
Roberts
got the scoring started in the 41st minute as Sene
delivered a beautiful pass in front of the net to Roberts who
buried a rocket shot into the net for a 1-0 lead heading into
the break.
The
second half was all Wells as Roberts, Sene, and Cody Glassman
all tallied goals for the Express en route to the 4-0 victory.
Seniors Nick Accordino, Derek Wheeler, Mike Birklin, and Court
Carnahan were all honored for the four years of dedications to
the team. Accordino and Wheeler each tallied assist in the game
while Birklin finished with six saves.
Both the
Express and Penn St. Berks have qualified for the North Eastern
Athletic Conference Tournament and will await for the tournament
seedings to be announced on Sunday afternoon.
