EXPRESS ROLL TO DOMINATING VICTORY OVER CAZENOVIA

December 9, 2009

Aurora,, NY–  The Wells College men’s basketball rolled to a dominating, 105-80, win over the visiting Cazenovia College Wildcats on Wednesday night at Wells. The Express had five different players score in double digits en route to the 25 point victory. With the win the Express improve to 5-4, while Cazenovia remains winless at 0-7.

Darrell Bullock led the way for the Express with with a season high 30 points, nine assist, and eight rebounds. Juan Paulino added a double-double finishing with 19 points to go along with a game high 21 rebounds and six assist. Greg Jones also had a solid performance with 21 points, while Matt Duffy and Rionn Pradia chipped in with 18 points and 14 points respectively.

 

The Wildcats were led by Cameron Smith who finished with a team high 20 points, while Noble Cunningham added nine points and a team high seven assist.

 

The Express jumped out to an early 5-0 lead and led by as many 17 points mid-way through the first half. The Wildcats managed to climb back into the game closing the half down by nine, 51-42.

 

Duffy opened the second with a three-pointer and a jumper sparking an 18-3 run that extended the Express lead to 24 points with 14:14 remaining. The Wildcats were unable to close the gap as the Express offense continued to stay hot shooting 63 percent from the floor in the second half.

 

Overall the Express shot 59 percent from the floor (43-72),  38 percent from behind the arc (5-13), and 56 percent from the free-throw line (14-25).

 

The Express enter a four week lay-off for the holiday break and will not return to action until January 4th when they travel to Penn St. Abington to take on the Nittany Lions at 7:00 pm in Abington, PA.
