Facilities
Today’s course hosts a complete 9-hole golf facility, including a clubhouse with food service and refreshments, a large outside deck, and a pro shop with the latest golf equipment. The course has a par of 36, with a total of 3,162 yards, and has a course rating of 69.4 and slope rating of 117.

The course is open to the public from dawn until dusk, from early March through early November, and offers both club and cart rentals. All golfers are welcome!  Call 315/364-8024 for tee times.

Many improvements have been made to the golf course in recent years, including a full-service clubhouse and pavilion. The pavilion may be booked for special events; catering by Sodexo is available. The public is also invited to inquire about playing in any of our major tournaments.

Staff
Wells College Golf Course has a friendly and knowledgeable staff who can assist you with all your golfing needs.  The golf course has been managed by Jim Boeff since 1993. A graduate of State University College at Oneonta and the Cornell Cooperative Turfgrass course in Ithaca, Jim was a golf course superintendent at Seneca Lake Country Club and Chili Country Club in Rochester before coming to Aurora. He is a Class A member of Golf Course Superintendents of America.

Our History
In 1923, on area farmland, a six-hole golf course was installed atop the Wells College campus in Aurora, New York. Edward Hayton became the first groundskeeper and PGA professional in 1938.  In the 1960s, renowned golf architect Robert Trent Jones (husband of Wells alumna Ione Davis Jones ‘31) redesigned several of the holes.
