MORE INFORMATION

International Applicants – Wells College welcomes inquiries and applications from international students, both women and men, who live abroad and in the United States.

Wells is a private, coeducational liberal arts college located on the eastern shore of Cayuga Lake in New York State’s scenic Finger Lakes resort region. The college was established in 1868 by Henry Wells, who also founded the American Express and Wells Fargo companies. By offering small classes, career connections through internships, and abundant opportunities for involvement in campus life, Wells represents the best in the American liberal arts education tradition that prepares students for leadership in their chosen fields.

Wells actively supports a campus community that brings together students and faculty from a wide variety of backgrounds who have a desire to share ideas, cultural perspectives, and create an inclusive community. Wells has a number of nationally recognized study abroad programs that have contributed to a strong international focus in the curriculum. You will find most majors at the college include a global perspective.

Wells is one of only four New York State private colleges and universities named among the nation’s top liberal arts schools that offer quality education at an affordable price in the 2005 edition of U.S. News & World Report’s America’s Best Colleges. Wells also scored national rankings in the 2005 edition of the Princeton Review’s The 357 Best Colleges. The college was named #15 in the nation for being best at encouraging class discussion and #20 on the list of most beautiful campuses.

Students applying from outside of the United States follow the same procedures and timetables as candidates applying from within the United States. However, there are a few variations. Students applying from outside the United States must also submit the following:
