MacMillan (Admissions Office)Applying to Wells. Wells College admits students on the basis of the strength of their academic preparation. A student is expected to possess the intellectual curiosity, motivation, and maturity to profit from the experience Wells offers. The collegeseeks students from varied backgrounds. Diverse interests and talents provide a stimulating intellectual environment.

Application Deadline Options. To be considered for admissions to Wells College, a candidate must submit completed application forms to the Admissions Office under one of the following options:

Early Decision. December 15. Students whose first choice is Wells are encouraged to apply under the early decision option. This is a binding admissions option. If admitted, early decision applicants agree to accept Wells' offer of admission and agree to withdraw their applications to all other colleges. Students receive early decision notification by January 15.

Early Action. December 15. Students who would like to receive an early review of their application files are encouraged to apply under the early action option. This is a non-binding admissions option. Students receive notification of admissions decisions by February 1.

Regular Admissions. March 1. All other applications to the college should be received by the regular admissions deadline. Applications are reviewed after this date and decisions are mailed by April 1.

Application Process.You may apply to Wells a number of ways: you may apply electronically, you may download an application, and you may request a hard copy be sent to you.

In order to be considered for admission to Wells, you must submit a completed application to the Wells College Admissions Office, 170 Main Street, Aurora, New York 13026 with a $40.00 application fee.

In addition to the completed form, you must submit:

  • A school report and official high school transcripts.
  • Two teacher recommendations from 11th and/or 12th grade teachers in academic subject areas.
  • Results from the SAT I or ACT. International students may submit TOEFL results.
  • A personal interview is strongly recommended.
class discussionInterviews. An interview with a member of the admissions staff or a Wells alumna is strongly recommended for admissions. Campus interviews are conducted by appointment Monday through Friday. To arrange an on-campus interview and visit, please contact the Wells College Admissions Office at 1-800-952-9355. If a campus visit is not possible, please contact the Admissions Office.

Apply On-Line. Welcome to Wells College's On-Line Application Center. To apply on-line, you must login to the application center and set up an account. This account enables you to return to the form as many times as necessary to complete your application. All of your data is stored in a secure database until you are ready to submit your completed application to the Admissions Office.
