Matthew C. McCabe

"The students at Wells College are very bright and inquisitive. The hallmark of the school is its small class size, so the students expect active discussions in class. I have continued to evolve my teaching style in order to engage the students in class in the way that they have come to expect. President Calvin Coolidge once said that, 'After all, the chief business of the American people is business.' Although Wells College is not a business school, I believe it is important for liberal arts students to be exposed to the business world that they will all enter into upon graduation."

Professor McCabe has been fascinated with the world of business and investments for many years. He assisted in the foundation of an investment advisory firm in 1988, and has been the sole proprietor of his own economic consulting firm since 1994. Over the years, Professor McCabe has learned that the business world is constantly changing. Because the business world changes so rapidly, he believes that it is important to learn the fundamentals of management that will endure regardless of current management "fads."
