Professor Miller-Bernal’s
particular interest in teaching and research are centered on women’s
higher education, with special attention paid to single-gender versus
coeducational learning. She studies the history and present condition
of historically black colleges, as well as women’s status
in India and several African societies. She enjoys the small classes
she teaches at Wells, the opportunity to really get to know her
students, and years of continuing relationships she holds with alums.
