"What I like best about my discipline is the ensemble nature of the work. It takes a great number of people to put on a play. As the marvelous theatre educator Viola Spolin said, ‘A healthy group relationship demands a number of individuals working interdependently to complete a given project with full individual participation and personal contribution.’ I think students pursue theatre to express themselves among and for individuals, and because it is a whole lot of fun. Siouxsie Grady
 
 

Professor Grady is interested in facilitating students’ discovery of the whole artist, specifically looking at the actor, director, historian, designer, stage manager, educator, manager, and theorist. Her research continues to take her in the direction of interdisciplinary arts, with pointed questions pertaining to the manner in which visual art, photography, and history affect her work.
