Wells
College-Cornell University Exchange Program
Wells students can enhance the range
and depth of their education through a special affiliation with nearby
Cornell
University. Martriculated Wells students may register for courses offered
by any of the seven undergraduate colleges of Cornell. This agreement will
be especially beneficial to students who aspire to medicine or other graduate
or professional programs at Cornell - they can begin to develop the contacts
that will help them gain admission. A regularly scheduled shuttle bus transports
students to and from the Cornell campus. Wells has a number of specialized
programs offered in conjunction with Cornell.
As part of the Wells College-Cornell
University Exchange program, matriculated students may register for
courses offered by Cornell University that do not duplicate a Wells course
and that are acceptable for transfer to Wells College. This option is open
to students with a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0
and after completing the first semester. A student may take one course
a semester at Cornell University, but no more than four throughout her
or his career at Wells, and must be granted permission by the advisor and
the registrar. Students should not expect to fulfill college distribution
or major requirements by taking courses under this program. For summer
work taken at Cornell University or any work during the semester for which
the student pays Cornell University tuition, the courses will be treated
as any other transfer work. Students taking a course at Cornell
University under this agreement may not take a course in the same semester
at Cayuga Community College or Ithaca College under the agreement with
those colleges.
The Cornell Engineering
Articulation Agreement
The 3/2 program between Wells and Cornell
is an excellent way to experience the close personal attention of a liberal
arts college, and also receive the benefits of one of the nation’s leading
research universities. Students are expected to take at least two, and
in some cases three, engineering distribution courses at Cornell prior
to transfer. The College of Engineering at Cornell will assign students
an advisor who will assist them while they are at Wells and after they
enroll at Cornell.
Wells
College-Cayuga Community College Exchange Program
As part of the Wells College-Cayuga
Community College Exchange program, matriculated students may register
for courses offered by CCC that do not duplicate a Wells course and that
are acceptable for transfer to Wells College. This option is open to students
with a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 and after
completing the first semester. A student may take one course a semester
at CCC, but no more than four throughout her or his career at Wells, and
must be granted permission by the advisor and the registrar. Students should
not expect to fulfill college distribution or major requirements by taking
courses under this program. For summer work taken at CCC, or any work during
the semester for which the student pays CCC tuition, the courses will be
treated as any other transfer work. Students taking a course
at CCC under this agreement may not take a course in the same semester
at Cornell University or Ithaca College under the agreement with those
colleges.
Wells
College-Ithaca College Exchange Program
Under the Wells College-Ithaca
College Exchange program, full-time matriculated students may register
for courses offered by Ithaca College that do not duplicate a Wells course
and are acceptable for transfer to Wells College. This option is
open to students with a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least
2.0 and after completing the first semester. A student may take one
course per semester at IC, but no more than 12 semester credits total (CU
and CCC programs each allow four courses) throughout her or his career
at Wells, and must be granted permission by the advisor and the registrar.
A student should not expect to fulfill college distribution or major requirements
by taking courses under this program, except with prior approval from her
advisor and the registrar. For summer work taken at IC, or any work
during the semester for which the student pays IC tuition, the courses
will be treated as any other transfer work. Students taking a course
at IC under the agreement may not take a course in the same semester at
Cornell University under the agreement with CU, nor at Cayuga Community
College under the agreement with CCC.
